Artist residencies are designed to place trained, knowledgeable, practicing professional artists, who are enthusiastic and motivated, into settings where they can share the joy and benefits of the creative process.

Through residency programs in craft, dance, folk arts, interdisciplinary arts, literature, media arts, music, theatre and visual arts, schools and service agencies can expect to improve themselves and strengthen their communities.

In school settings, residency artists are prepared to connect to other curricular areas. Residency artists link the arts to areas beyond their artistic specialty enabling them to work with a diverse group of students and instructors. In nonprofit service settings, residency artists are sensitive to the needs of various communities and also the potential that lies within each individual.
