Quick Facts:
The mission of the Muncie Civic & College Symphony
Association, an alliance between the community and
Ball State University, is to stimulate, educate, and
entertain audiences in East Central Indiana and to
provide a meaningful musical experience for
professional, community, and student musicians,
through the performance of fine music and other
activities.
The
Muncie Symphony Orchestra was founded in the summer
of 1949. The Symphony is under the direction of
Buhuslav Rattay, conductor.

Celebrate the Arts
at Symphony on the Green in Muncie
The Muncie Symphony Orchestra is
holding its annual
Symphony on the Green concert at the Ball State
University Arts Terrace in front of the Fine Arts
Building on Saturday, June 9. Bring a picnic,
chairs, blankets, and your family to this free
outdoor event.
Pre-concert activities will begin at
4:30 p.m., followed by the Muncie Symphony Orchestra
performance at 6:30 p.m. Local groups will provide
entertainment, including Cornerstone Center for the
Arts, Muncie Civic Theatre, East Central Indiana
Youth Symphony Orchestra, Third Age Theatre, Muncie
Ballet Studio, and Magic City Music Men.
The Muncie Children’s Museum will be
providing children’s activities and a musical
petting zoo. Artisans will also be on hand selling
their works.
Picnic tables will be available with
a reservation. A table with eight chairs costs just
$20 when you bring your own picnic. VIP tables
include a catered dinner. Nonprofit rates are
